The Story Behind the Peculiar Poem in NYC’s Port Authority Tunnel
In the last week I’ve walked through this passage way a few times, and the poem interested me. I also didn’t know about the inspiration, Burma Shave ads on Route 66. The below image is from this Poetry Foundation article. The poem, the “Commuter’s Lament” is read while walking in between the ceiling beams, and the pace changes with your speed.
